Applications and nominations are invited for the position of Director of the School of Accountancy

Responsibilities/Duties:
The School of Accountancy, a unit of the College of Business, offers an innovative integrated 150-hour program leading to both bachelor's/master's degrees. The program includes a general track as well as specialty tracks in both accounting information systems and tax. The School also maintains a small but high quality doctoral program in accountancy. The faculty is quite stable and includes five professors, four associate professors, four assistant professors, and four teaching professors. Eight of the nine tenured faculty members hold named positions. MU's College of Business is one of the oldest and most comprehensive business schools in the Midwest, with nationally recognized undergraduate and graduate business programs. The College is housed in Cornell Hall, a premier, state of the art facility. MU is an AAU member university and a Carnegie Doctoral/Research Extensive institution. Columbia, located midway between Kansas City and St. Louis, is consistently rated as one of the most livable communities in the U.S.

Qualifications:
Candidates for this position must have an earned doctorate in accountancy and fulfill the qualifications for initial appointment at the rank of professor with tenure, or demonstrate an established record of research and teaching excellence that assures promotion in the near future. We seek a proven leader who can provide the leadership to sustain and enhance the strong national prominence of our accountancy programs, building on an existing base of high quality students, as well as strong alumni and employer support. Other qualifications include effective written and oral communication skills, and interpersonal skills. Previous administrative experience as a department head or school director is desired, but not required for the position.
