Assistant, Associate or Full Professor (070284)
Position:
The University of Missouri-Columbia is recruiting a faculty member with expertise in either health system design and strategy or quality and safety improvement and process design. This is a tenure-track position at the assistant, associate, or full professor level, commensurate with experience, appointed on a 12-month basis in the Department of Health Management and Informatics (HMI). However, we especially encourage candidates holding associate or full professor status to apply for the following position.
Responsibilities:
The candidate selected for the positon will work approximately half-time in a research/leadership position supporting the Center for Health Care Quality's (CHCQ) research activities. CHCQ's focus is on the development of innovative and effective ways to improve patient care delivery, education and training of health professionals, and research and scholarship. The candidates selected will be expected to carry out health services research in areas such as quality improvement, process and systems change, organization strategy, or health policy and evaluation. Faculty members may also hold appointments in and carry out research through the Center for Health Care Quality in the School of Medicine and/or the Center for Health Policy (http://healthpolicy.missouri.edu/) , a campus center linking the Truman School of Public Affairs and the Schools of Medicine, Nursing, Health Professions, and Law. Many HMI faculty members also provide leadership and maintain a global research and training agenda through the European Union Center (http://eu.missouri.edu/) at MU.
Qualifications:
Candidates should have demonstrated research and teaching capabilities in the field of expertise. Candidates should have a Ph.D., MD or equivalent degree, and should have a strong interest in collaborative research and a commitment to providing leadership within a multidisciplinary research and teaching program.
Department:
The Department of Health Management and Informatics has 24+ faculty members, and offers a Ph.D. program in Informatics. The HMI Department also hourses natonally ranked master's programs in Health Services Management (MHA) and Health and Bioinformatics (MS). The Ph.D. program is for residential students, while the master's programs are offered both on-campus and as executive programs using distance-learning formats.
