School of Medicine: Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Women's Health

Assistant/Associate/Full Professor or Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Clinical Obstetrics and Gynecology (070303)

Position:
The appointee will join other members of the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Women’s Health in delivering excellent clinical, research, teaching and community services and integrating the division’s activities with those of the department and the School of Medicine at the University of Missouri.

The clinical practice mission of the Urogynecology Division is undertaken through the Missouri Center for Female Continence and Advanced Pelvic Surgery, which is the only center dedicated solely to female pelvic floor dysfunction in central Missouri. The center provides a broad array of outpatient services including multichannel urodynamics, office cystoscopy, 3-D (360°) endoanal ultrasound, and pelvic floor rehabilitation.

The division currently participates in a number of single center and multicenter clinical research protocols. The appointee will participate in ongoing research or develop a clinical and/or basic science research program of his/her own.

Qualifications:
Qualifications include doctor of medicine or doctor of osteopathic medicine, BE/BC in Obstetrics and Gynecology and completion of fellowship training in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery. A strong candidate will have demonstrated leadership qualities and a record of academic achievements. The successful candidate should have academic qualifications for the rank of assistant professor, associate professor or professor (tenure track or clinical track depending on qualifications). Rank and very competitive salary will be commensurate with training, academic level and experience. An attractive start-up package will be provided.

Campus:
MU is one of 34 public US universities in the AAU and is designated as “Doctoral/Research Extensive” by the Carnegie Foundation. The land grant campus has School of Medicine and School of Veterinary Medicine. MU ranks as the fastest growing public university in federal funding.

Columbia is located just 2 and 3 hours from St. Louis and Kansas City, respectively, and about 1 hour from the Lake of the Ozarks, a popular resort. Columbia has been designated a “Gem of a Town” by Southern Living for its restaurants, entertainment and unique shopping. Columbia is a beautiful college town boasting excellent schools, low cost of living and crime indexes, very affordable housing, cultural diversity and a temperate, four-season climate. In addition, Columbia’s air quality was recently ranked ninth in the nation.
