Assistant or Associate Professor Cardiology (050417)

Position:
The University of Missouri-Columbia, College of Veterinary Medicine, Department of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery seeks applications for a tenure track faculty position in cardiology.

Responsibility/Duties:
As one of two full-time cardiology faculty, the chosen applicant will participate in the operation of a busy cardiology service with a resident, a full-time clinical technician, and veterinary students currently scheduled as part of an elective clinical cardiology rotation.

Available state-of-the art equipment includes separate cardiology echocardiography and teaching laboratories, color flow Doppler echocardiography, clinical and research angiography suites including digital fluoroscopy and cineangiography, and complete electrodiagnostic and pacing capabilities. Collaborative research opportunities exist within the college, at the Dalton Cardiovascular Research Center, and at the School of Medicine, all located on the Columbia campus.

Preference will be given to candidates that are interested in pursuing a tenure track position, however candidates that are interested in a clinical track are encouraged to apply. In either instance, the individual will be expected to contribute to the College’s overall goals through teaching, clinical service, collaborative or independent research and outreach, commensurate with the assigned track.

Qualifications:
Qualifications include eligibility for licensure to practice veterinary medicine in the State of Missouri and diplomate status or eligibility in the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM), specialty of cardiology.
