Assistant Professor of Food Animal Medicine, Public Health and International Education (070290)

Position:
The Department of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery, College of Veterinary Medicine and the Public Health Program at the University of Missouri, Columbia seek applications for an Assistant Professor (tenure track) of Food Animal Medicine, Veterinary Public Health and International Education.

Responsibilities:
The faculty member will serve as the primary instructor for a course addressing emerging human diseases of animal origin and will be assigned guest lectures in courses related to food animal medicine, epidemiology, biostatistics, experimental design and data analysis. The faculty member will assist the advisement of MPH students. The faculty member will be assigned to clinical service in the food animal clinical section of the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital for a period not to exceed 3 months/yr. The faculty member will assist in the development of a planned program to provide veterinary education for foreign nationals from less developed countries. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a scholarly program related to food animal medicine or veterinary public health.

Qualifications:
Completion of a veterinary professional degree, DVM, or equivalent degree, is required. Clinical experience and expertise related to the diagnosis, treatment and husbandry of food animals is required. Eligibility for a license to practice veterinary medicine in Missouri, either regular or faculty licensure is required.
