Veterinary Medicine: Veterinary Medicine & Surgery

Assistant/Associate Professor of Cardiology or Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor of Cardiology (080021)

Position:
The University of Missouri-Columbia, College of Veterinary Medicine, Department of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery seeks applications for a faculty position in cardiology. Qualifications include eligibility for licensure to practice veterinary medicine in the State of Missouri and diplomat status or eligibility in the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM), or European College of Veterinary Medicine (ECVIM) specialty of cardiology.

The successful applicant will participate in the operation of a busy cardiology service with a resident, a full-time technician, and veterinary students scheduled as part of the elective clinical cardiology rotation. Responsibility for teaching in the basic and advanced didactic courses will be shared by the two cardiology clinicians. Available state-of-the art equipment includes clinical and research angiography suites including digital fluoroscopy and cineangiography, color flow Doppler echocardiography, phonocardiography, and electrodiagnostic and pacing capabilities. Collaborative research opportunities exist within the college, at the Dalton Cardiovascular Research Center, and at the School of Medicine, all located on the Columbia campus.

The position can be structured as either a tenure track or a clinical track depending upon the candidate’s interests and experiences. In either instance, the individual will be expected to contribute to the College’s overall goals through teaching, clinical service, collaborative or independent research and outreach, with the percent effort towards each to be commensurate with the chosen track.
